This is a Bicentennial Clock made by Eurich & Romeo of Dearborn, Michigan. The Bicentennial clock was conceived by Tom Eurich and Rocky Romeo in the mid 1970's. Eurich, a furniture store owner, and Romeo, an engineer for Ford Motor Company, both had a love and passion for antique clocks. They came up with this beautiful clock to celebrate the nation's 200 years but also to pay tribute to the clock making industry. The clock features a solid mahogany case with wonderfully carved accents. The glass panels are reverse painted with all work being done by hand. The top panel shows Lady Justice created in 24 karat gold leaf. Further down, the original 13 star flag is painted along with the 50 star flag as it was in 1976 and remains today. The bottom glass panel shows a 24 karat gold leaf eagle with a bible and the Declaration of Independence. The motto "In God We Trust" is also painted in this panel. The carved framing of the clock case has a gilt finish. The gilt case is more scarce than the bare mahogany case. Originally, there was to be production of 500
