Eugene Field Autograph Letter Signed
Eugene Field Autograph Letter Signed, one page, 5" x 7.5", Chicago, Illinois, January 28, 1893, to "Carrie". It reads: "I expect to be in Minneapolis next Wednesday morning and shall call on you that day. I shall stop at Sol Smith Russell's while in Minneapolis, and Mr. Cable will be with me. We go to Milwaukee Thursday evening. We are all fairly well. Edgar was here last Sunday, and he is looking about as usual. Helen has gone to Florida; perhaps to stay. But I suppose that Ida keeps you fully informed of St. Louis doings. She loves to entail and gloat over bad news. Tomorrow I go to Rockford to read. Monday night we read in Chicago, and the house is already pretty much sold out. We all unite in love to you and Henry. Affectionately yours,". This letter was written while Field was on a tour reading from his works. A newspaperman and children's poet, Field is best remembered for "Wynken, Blynken and Nod". Folds as expected, else very fine condition.
