The rival of Nadar in French photography, he is best known for his numerous portraits and caricatures of political, literary, and artistic Parisian figures. ALS in French, one page, 4.5 x 7, no date. Crisply penned untranslated letter to a friend. In fine condition, with a central horizontal fold and a uniform shade of light toning.
