<tr>
<td><em>
This is a prime example of colonial Portuguese
culture of SE Asia, very little of which remains today, and is an unusual piece to add to your decor. </em></td>

<tr>
<td width="100%">
This colonial Portuguese "Almera"(armario)is 19th
century, and is the type formerly used in homes of many of the settlers in Portuguese enclaves in SE Asia. In other cultures, it would be called an Etagere or server (sideboard).The elaborately carved cupboard with shelves and mirrors above is indicative of the life style of the period. It is very nice for showing off plates and other collectibles, as shown in picture #2 (items not included).
