Two items related to the 1990 Escape from New York tour headlined by the Ramones, Blondie, and members of the Talking Heads. First, a scarce beige cotton flight jacket manufactured by Avirex Ltd., size large, featuring a brown leather collar, shoulder patches, and an Avirex name tag on left chest, with the back bearing a large embroidered tour logo patch, showing the statue of liberty leering over large block lettering. The cotton interior bears a printed Army Air Forces certificate of appreciation for war service to Avirex Ltd, copyrighted 1987. The original Avirex brand tag remains attached to zipper. Second is a glossy 10 x 8 group photo of the various Escape from New York tour musicians, signed in black felt tip by Joey, Johnny, CJ, and Marky Ramone, Debbie Harry, Chris Stein, Chris Frantz, Jerry Harrison, and Tina Weymouth, with Frantz and Joey Ramone adding “1990.” In overall fine condition, with mounting remnants to lower border of photo. The Ramones, Blondie, and three members of the Talking Heads crossed the country in the summer of 1990 on the celebrated Escape from New York tour, a meeting of established rock minds who sought to excise the excess of the current music scene with an antedated Lollapalooza-esque traveling showcase. An ideal pairing of items honoring the once-in-a-lifetime tour.
