Vintage glossy 8 x 10 Vitagraph publicity photo of Flynn sitting on a falling tree and whittling in the film Virginia City, signed vertically in blue ink. Framed to an overall size of 13 x 15. In very good condition, with scattered creases, surface marks, and impressions, some light wear to finish, and some light corner toning and soiling. The 1940 Western starred Flynn, Miriam Hopkins, and Randolph Scott, and featured a mustachioed Humphrey Bogart in the role of the real-life outlaw John Murrell. The film was directed by Michael Curtiz, who also directed such film classics as The Adventures of Robin Hood and Casablanca.
