Renowned Prague-born alto (1861–1936) best known for her Wagnerian operatic roles. Original 4.25 x 6.5 cabinet photo of Schumann-Heink in costume by W. Hoffert of Berlin, signed on the image in black ink, “Schumann-Heink Bayreuth 1899,” adding two lines from Act I of one of her opera parts. In very good condition, with some light spotting and silvering to image, a bit of light irregular ink adhesion, small impressed stamp under signature, and some light rubbing to image.
