Commander-in-chief of the US Fleet and chief of naval operations (1878-1956) who commanded the US Navy throughout World War II and served as President Franklin D. Roosevelt’s chief naval advisor. He was promoted to five-star admiral in 1944. Glossy 8 x 10 photo of King wearing his dress uniform in front of a world map, signed in black felt tip along the top border, “Ernest J. King, F.A.” In very good condition, with a horizontal crease passing through the image, scattered creasing, and light ink adhesion to a single letter of the signature. RRAuction COA.
