Ernest Hemingway Autograph Letter Signed "Ernest". Three pages, New York, nd. The letter, written on "The Lombardy, New York" stationery, is addressed to Carl, and relates personal pleasantries and Key West references, including an account of an outing involving one of the author's great passions: "Also was an invitation to a live bird shoot against the best Cuban shooters and champion of Spain. I was straight at 17 with everybody else shot out. Big wind. Won 170 bucks with bets and all. Take good care of yourself and Lorine. Will see you in April or in May. I love you both very much and always miss you. Ernest. Off on plane in one hour. Been sick with typhoid shots." An evocative letter from this bigger-than-life literary giant, whose zest for living is perhaps as renowned as his books. Fine condition.
