Author, screenwriter, and educator. He was best-known for writing the novel Love Story, a bestseller, and writing the motion picture of the same name. One page ALS, in French, dated April 29, on Yale University letterhead, returning a questionnaire to a correspondent and apologizing for his poor French. Included is the seven-page questionnaire, with questions and responses in French. Segal offers some intriguing responses including his favorite painter (Walt Disney), favorite musician (Aznavour), and favorite author (Boris Vian). He offers a couple other candid responses including how he would like to die (”on the finishing line of the 1997 Olympic games marathon”), and the worst thing that could happen to him (”to lose my sense of humor”).
