Regarded as a true original with his own distinctive styles on alto saxophone, flute, and bass clarinet, Dolphy died suddenly at the age of 36 from a diabetic coma. Table card from the Cork ‘n Bib in Westbury, Long Island, signed in-person in black ink by Dolphy, and also signed in-person in blue ballpoint by fellow John Coltrane band members McCoy Tyner, Elvin Jones, and Reggie Workman, who has signed on the opposite side and inscribed to Paul. In fine condition, with some scattered light soiling. Signed during the brief period when Dolphy joined Coltrane's usual quartet.
