Erfurt Double Date 1920 Police Rework Luger Pistol with Holster
Produced in Prussia in 1917, and later reworked for used by the post-War Weimar Republic. Fixed sights, with "1920/ 1917" stamped on the chamber and "crown/ ERFURT" on the toggle. Right side of the extension has "G", the three "crown/ gothic letter" proofs and a "crown/ RC" rework proof next to the Imperial firing proof, which is repeated on the barrel and breechblock, with scattered letter proofs on many parts. Side plate cut down and fitted with a sear safety. Unnumbered barrel, with "eagle/ 33" (Simson, Thuringen) proof. Some parts renumbered. Front strap has been stamped "P.N.36.". Checkered hardwood grips and nickel magazine with wood base numbered to match the gun. With a black leather holster dated 1916, with "S.Mg.552/ 4045" struck out on the back and "S.Mg.I.R." on the flap.

Condition: Very fine as arsenal refurbished, with 95% of the blue finish, showing bright wear along the edges, a few small areas of gray patina and scattered spotting and handling marks. Grips are excellent, with the screw absent from the right panel and mild pressure dents. Holster is fair as repaired, with replacement straps, tears and cracks. Mechanically excellent.
