Union general (1810–1895) who commanded a brigade at the First Battle of Bull Run, saw action at Seven Pines, Savage’s Station, and Harrison’s Landing. He was removed from command by General John Dix after his retreat at Gettysburg. Original 2.25 x 3.5 carte-de-visite photo by J. E. McClees of Philadelphia, signed in the lower border in black ink, “E. D. Keyes.” A trimmed top edge, otherwise fine condition.
