Now part of New York City, Brooklyn, at the time when these pieces were issued in 1862, was an independent city. The piece is in perfect condition printed in blue on the face and black on the back. Force's full business address "JNO. C. Force, National Shades, 16 High Street, Brooklyn" is listed on four lines on the flap and back of the envelope.
