Ensemble of Late 19th Century Revenue Cutter Officer's Uniform Items: (1) Beautiful officer's fore & aft hat, the interior of which is marked F.J. Heiberger/Military Furniture, 535 15th Street NW, Washington D.C.'' Condition is excellent with only very minor toning to some of the bullion coils. In japanned tin remaining in excellent condition, with minor scuffs and dents to exterior of case; interior is near perfect. (2) Additional tinned case consists of Revenue Cutter's Captain's dress epaulets by the same maker Heiberger. Interior of tin box remains in excellent condition; exterior with somewhat more scuffs and scratches than hat tin. (3) Slightly smaller box with Revenue Cutter's service epaulets, (both box and epaulets by Horstmann), for the rank of Captain, as well as bullion hat band and 17 uniform buttons; and a very scarce Revenue Cutter's officer's belt buckle of brass, with silver and gilt plate. Accompanied with a photo of the officer at the time of his graduation from the Academy in New London, CT. All are in fine condtion. Est.: $2,000-$3,000/lot.
