Vintage matte-finish 5.75 x 9 portrait of Caruso by Herman Mishkin of New York, boldly signed and inscribed in black ink, “To Miss Ruth Donnelly, Sincerely, Enrico Caruso, N. Y. 1914.” In very good condition, with scattered surface marks, a couple small edge tears, light overall silvering to the image, and trimmed edges, slightly affecting the inscription and date. Caruso inscribed this photo to the then 18-year-old Ruth Donnelly who was starring on Broadway in a George M. Cohan musical—she went on to have a long career on the stage and in Hollywood films.
