ALS, one page, 8 x 10.5, Hotel Knickerbocker letterhead, no date. Letter to Doctor [Horowitz]. In full: “Enclosed I return you the Rubinstein Club tickets which I cannot attend owing to a previous engagement, I thank you for same & wish you would thank the President Mrs Chapman for same. I also enclose you two Seats for you & two for Miss Tiffany for ‘Martha’ Friday evening with my compliments.” Notation on reverse in an unknown hand reads, “2 Orch Dr. and Mrs. Horowitz 2 Balcony for Miss Tiffany.” In very good condition, with a few partial separations along intersecting folds, toning to page, heavier to upper portion, some mild mirroring of unknown type to bottom, and mounting remnants to reverse. Caruso is not common in handwritten letters, particularly mentioning any of his works.
