Two covers: an uncommon FDC, 7.5 x 4.25, bearing an Atomic Bomb stamp and exact replica in genuine 22kt gold, postmarked September 3, 1995, signed in blue ink, "Paul Tibbets, Pilot, Hiroshima, 6 Aug, 1945" and "Charles W. Sweeney, Pilot, Nagasaki, 9 Aug '45"; and an FDC bearing a cachet honoring the 50th anniversary of the end of World War II, signed in blue ink, "Fred J. Olivi LTC USAF, Co-pilot B-29, 'Bockscar,' Nagasaki Mission, 9 Aug 1945," in black ballpoint, "Sgt. Ray Gallagher, asst. Flt. Engineer, Nagasaki Aug. 9, 1945," and in blue ballpoint, "Major Chas. W. Sweeney—Pilot." The latter cover is stamped “First Day of Non Issue” because the 'atomic explosion' postal stamp was rescinded by the US Postal Service after protests from the Japanese government. In overall fine condition.
