Laserprint 11 x 8.5 photo of the devastated Hiroshima, signed in blue felt tip, “The destruction in Hiroshima was comparable with effects from previous bombing raids by hundreds of B29s. What was not known was the radiation effect. Actually there are two radiation effects: primary high energy x-rays and gamma rays at the time of the explosion. This burned people and combustible materials—limited to a range of thousands of feet. The second radiation effect is from long life radioactive by-products of the fission of the U235 explosive. Morris Jeppson, Weapons Test Officer, Enola Gay Mission, 6 Aug. 1945.” In fine condition, with a couple brushes to ink and a slightly grainy quality to the image.
