ALS signed “Morris Jeppson,” two lined pages, 8.5 x 11, June 21, 2009. Jeppson sends a detailed response to an admirer after being questioned on “an old subject.” In part: “The actions of the Enola Gay B29 on the way to Hiroshima were identical to a number of test ‘missions’ in the spring of 1945 when a B29 from Wendover airfield flew the 5 ton test bombs to a target on the Salton Sea in California. The test bombs, complete with all the…electronics, were dropped on the Salton Sea from an altitude of 30,000 feet. The Hiroshima mission was just another one, but it included the Uranium 235 explosives…Yes, I would do my job again, especially now that declassified documents, both US and Japanese reveal details of a very large invasion plan scheduled for November 1945—2-1/2 months after Hiroshima.” In fine condition, with perforated top edge from removal from a notepad.
