Enola Gay tailgunner, his vantage point made him the first man in history to witness the cataclysmic growth of the mushroom cloud over Hiroshima. Two ALS, signed “George R. Caron,” both one page, both sides, dated September 23 and October 12, 1988. Two letters of response in regard to an offer of one of Caron’s autographed 100 yen notes, stating “It was the crew of the ‘Great Artiste’ but they flew the Bock’s Car for the mission. The ‘Great Artiste’ was fitted with instrumentation and flew both missions but Major Sweeney and Captain Bock swapped airplanes.” In fine condition.
