Frame in very good condition with light surface marks.<p>Signature: Engraver, Artist and Publisher noted in margin under print. <p>Notes: Beautifully rendered engraving<p> BIOGRAPHY: Pierre Cottin : A foremost nineteenth century painter and etcher of landscapes and genre scenes, Pierre Cottin studied art under Jazet in Paris. Cottin first gained recognition for his etchings after the designs of contemporary painters, such as Schoppin, Euder, Vernet, Bellange and Rosa Bonheur. Beginning around 1860, however Cottin began to create etchings based solely upon his own work.
