Beautiful engraving of a reindeer surrounded by hounds by German artist J. E. Ridinger (1698-1767). It is signed on the plate : "I. El. Ridinger inv. del. sc. et exc. AV." The last two initials stand for Augustae Vindelicorum (the latin name for the city of Augsburg). Johann Elias Ridinger was a German painter, engraver, draughtsman and publisher well-known for his hunting scenes. In good used condition with a few water spots that can be mostly concealed by a matt when framing. One of a pair listed separately.
