Engraved and Gold Finished Williamson Patent Moore Single Shot Pistol with Percussion Insert

Manufactured circa 1866-1870, and designed by David Williamson. Blade front and hammer notch rear sights, with an engraved arrow on top of the barrel, scroll designs at the muzzle and breech and "WILLIAMSON'S PAT. OCT. 2. 1866 NEW YORK" on the left. Fine scroll engraving is visible on the gilt finished upper tang, breech, trigger guard, and trigger guard finials, with a sunburst pattern on the tip of the stock, which ends in a checkered bird's head butt. A percussion chamber insert is included with the pistol.

Very fine as partially period replated (barrel only), with 90% of the original gold finish on balance, showing some minor handling marks overall. The breech shows traces of deeply aged silver. Grip is fine, with a dent on the left side of the butt and scattered dings and handling marks. Mechanically fine.
