Invented by David Williamson, the Single Shot was made between 1866 and 1870. German silver blade front and hammer notch rear sights, with an engraved arrow on top of the barrel and "WILLIAMSON'S PAT. OCT. 2. 1866 NEW YORK" on the left. Faint scroll and punch-dot engraving is visible on the silver finished upper tang, breech, trigger guard and trigger guard finials, with a sunburst pattern on the tip of the stock, which ends in a checkered bird's head butt. The barrel is numbered to the gun. Has reproduction cartridge insert.

Condition: Refinished. The barrel has a smooth gray patina showing some minor pitting with deeper pitting on the under side. The brass has an attractive aged patina. The heavily sanded, reoiled stock is fair with a few hairline cracks and some minor handling marks. Mechanically good.
