Engraved Smith & Wesson 2nd Model Single Action Revolver with Pearl Grips
Manufactured circa 1877-1891. Standard two line address/patent dates marking flanked by Maltese crosses on top of the rib and "38 S&W CTG." in a panel on the left side of the barrel. The sides of the barrel and frame are engraved with a broad leaf floral scroll design with a punch dot background. Pinned half-moon front sight and barrel latch notch rear sight. The barrel, latch and cylinder are mis-matched and the cylinder has been renumbered to match the gun. Fitted with smooth pearl grips with "S&W" medallions.

Condition: Period engraved with 90% nickel finish remaining, with some muzzle and high edge wear. There is some pitting on the hammer. The grips are very good with a few minor scuffs and handling marks. The action needs work, when the trigger is pulled the hammer stops at half cock and when pulled again completes the cycle. The markings and engraving remain crisp and clear.
