Engraved Pre-World War II Sodia Ferlach Over/Under Double Rifle

Located in Southern Austria, Ferlach has a long and upstanding tradition of producing some of the finest hunting weapons of all types dating back to the 1500's. Ferlach firearms are known to have the perfect balance of quality, beauty, craftsmanship and functionality. Today there are 13 companies making guns. These companies are family groupings with some of the best known and most often encountered in the U.S. are names such as Hauptmann, Winkler and Michelitsch just to name a few. This particular rifle features over/under barrels with a 7mm round lower barrel and a .22RF octagon upper with matting along the top with a raised front blade sight and a fixed iron rear sight and dovetailed claw mounts on a quarter rib. The top of the rib is marked "SODIA FERLACH" in a panel. The underside of the lower barrel is marked "BOHLER BLITZ STAHL", "1123.g", "0.6", "gM.G.", "108.37.", serial number, a Czechoslovakian "NFP" smokeless powder proof and black powder proof. The top right side edge of the frame is marked with the matching serial number and the smokeless powder proof. The action is very nicely relief engraved with game animal and game bird scenes and floral vine engraving and marked "FRANZ SODIA FERLACH". The break lever, trigger guard and forearm hardware have a floral leaf design as well as a "droop wing eagle/S" on the trigger guard. Blue barrels, casehardened remaining parts, adjustable double triggers, shell extractor, cocking indicators, tang mounted automatic safety with gold inlaid "S" and mounted with a multi-point checkered three-piece walnut forearm and pistol grip stock with cheekpiece, horn grip cap and buttplate, and sling swivels.
