Engraved Merwin Hulbert Second Model Open Top Pocket Army Single Action Revolver
The revolver is almost fully engraved with the distinctive punch dot style associated with Merwin. The left rear of the frame also features a masted ship in a round panel. The left side of the barrel has the two line Hopkins & Allen address/patent dates, the left side of the frame is marked "MERWIN HULBERT & CO. N.Y. / POCKET ARMY", "CALIBRE / WINCHESTER 1873" on the right side and the serial number is marked on the right side of the lanyard spur and the matching assembly number "890 is marked on the frame under the grip, on the rear face of the cylinder, inside of the barrel lug and on the arbor pin. All nickel finish and fitted with checkered hard rubber grips.

Condition: Period replated. The revolver retains half of the nickel finish with scattered minor flaking. There is blistering of the finish on the cylinder. The grips are good with a large chip on the right rear, some high point wear and moderate wear on the checkering. The action needs work, the hammer can be decocked without the use of the hammer and the cylinder does not lock up. The markings are clear.
