Engraved Luchs Marked German Drilling
The top of each barrel at the breech end is marked "MARKE LUCHS" and intertwined "CWT" over "WITTENER / EXCELSIOR STAHL" over an Imperial eagle logo. The muzzle and breech ends are engraved with simple designs. The bottoms of the barrels are marked "EXCELSIOR" and "WITTEN" with various proof marks. The upper barrels are 12 gauge, chambered 2 3/4", choked full/extra full and the lower rifle barrel is chambered in 9mm with an extractor. There is a sling swivel mounted on the bottom barrel. The barrels are blue, action casehardened and the trigger guard is horn. The massive action is relief engraved with flowers on the fences and bottom, and wooded wildlife scenes on the sides including a fox and two deer on the left side and three elk and a boar on the right side. The top of the break lever is marked "LUCHS VERSCHLUSS / MOD I". The front sight is absent and it has a flip up rear sight on the solid matte rib. Double triggers (front trigger adjustable), wrist mounted safety, cross bolt, tang mounted selector and mounted with a checkered forearm and pistol grip stock with a horn grip cap, cheekpiece, serrated horn buttplate, cartridge compartment and sling swivel.

Period refurbished, the barrels, which retain almost all of the blue finish remaining with some minor spotting and a small area of minor pitting under the finish. The remaining metal surfaces have a smooth gray patina. The wood is fine with some bruising of the checkering on the forearm and overall scattered minor dings and dents. There are a few very small chips on the trigger guard and a small amount of insect damage on the buttplate. The markings are clear and the engraving crisp. Mechanically fine.
