Engraved L.C. Smith Ideal Grade Double Barrel 16 Gauge Hammerless Shotgun with Mutton Case
Built from 1914 to 1951. 2 3/4 inch chambers, choked extra full and improved modified with an extractor. Dual bead sights on a raised solid barrel rib. Standard one line model marking on left barrel, with "LONDON STEEL" on the underside of both barrels. Broad floral engraved casehardened action marked "L.C. SMITH" on both side plates. Double triggers and tang safety. Checkered forearm with ebony insert and checkered pistol grip stock with grip cap and serrated buttplate. Length of pull is 14 inches. With mutton case.

Condition: Excellent. The barrels retain 95% original blue finish with some thinning to a smooth plum patina. The trigger guard retains 99% plus original lue finish. The receiver retains 60% faded original case colors mixed with smooth gray patina. The refinished wood has some scattered minor handling marks and dings. The checkering is crisp. The case is about good with overall minor scuffs and scratches, and broken carrying strap.
