The included documentation states the shotgun was manufactured in approximately 1886. The top of the barrel rib is inscribed "COCHISE CO. BANK", and the upper tang is marked "CCB" under the break lever. Cochise County Bank was established in Tombstone while Arizona was still a territory. Further documentation includes letters from Stephen K. Elliot of the Western Heritage Museum, J. David Williamson technical advisor of the L.C. Smith Collectors Association, vintage photo of Cochise Co. Bank manager Lionel M. Jacobs from the period of this gun's manufacture, and a copy of the article "L.C. Smith in the Town Too Tough to Die" from the L.C. Smith Collectors Association magazine (Vol. 11, issue 3) written by Max K. Hurlbut. The barrels have 2 3/4" chambers. LOP is 13 3/4".
