Engraved L.C. Smith Eagle Trap Single Barrel Shotgun
High visibility front sight and ivory bead mid-sight on a vent rib with a 2 3/4 inch chamber, choked improved modified with an extractor. The left side of the barrel is marked "L.C. SMITH Eagle TRAP" with wedges of light floral pattern engraved on the sides of both barrels at the breech. The serial number (S40425E) is marked on the receiver, barrel, and forearm, with the trigger guard tang renumbered ( "48435"). The once casehardened action features a floral scroll and punch dot engraving. The sides of the receiver feature deep relief game birds on a punch dot background. The break lever has a relief engraved eagle on a punch dot background. Cocking indicator on the upper tang. Mounted with a nicely figured walnut pistol grip stock with checkering on the Schnabel forearm, stock flats and grip area, grip cap, high comb and fitted with a vented Pachmayr White Line recoil pad. Length of pull is 4 3/8 inches.

Condition: Excellent. The barrel retains 90% of the original blue finish with some thinning to smooth brown patina. The receiver and trigger guard have been cleaned bright with some minor pitting on the upper tang. The refurbished wood has a few minor handling and virtually all of the varnish remaining. The recut checkering is crisp overall. Cocking indicator does not remain up when action is cocked, otherwise action is fine.
