Engraved L.C. Smith Crown Grade Double Barrel Shotgun
Introduced in 1913. This L.C. Crown Grade shotgun features dual ivory bead sights on a solid rib, 2 3/4" chambers, choked full/full with ejectors. The right barrel is marked "L.C. SMITH Crown GRADE" and the left barrel is marked "MADE TO ORDER BY THE HUNTER ARMS CO. INC. FULTON.N.Y." The sides of barrel at the breech features a wedge of scrollwork with the underside of the lug also engraved and the flats are jeweled. Scroll and floral bouquet engraved casehardened action with "L.C. SMITH" banner and a pair of dogs in a woodland scene on each plate. The casehardened break lever also features the scrollwork and is inlaid with a gold crown. Nicely figured walnut pistol grip stock with fine checkering on the forearm and grip area. The stock has a grip cap and replacement solid recoil pad. Length of pull is 14 1/4".

Condition: Excellent. The barrels retain 95% of the original blue finish with some minor thinning at each end and normal wear under the forearm. The action retains 97% of the original case colors with some silver gray patina. The trigger guard is a mix of original blue and smooth gray patina. The refinished wood has some scattered minor handling marks and some scattered minor dings in the overall crisp checkering and a minor chip near the lower tang. The recoil pad h as separated at the toe. Mechanically very good.
