Engraved Holland & Holland Royal Patent Hammerless Ejector Double Barrel Shotgun Number One of a Game Bird Set

Single bead sight on the smooth concave solid rib marked "HOLLAND & HOLLAND. 98 NEW BOND STREET, LONDON." There is a 1 1/2 inch wedge of floral scroll engraving on the breech end of the rib and a gold inlaid "1". 2 3/4 inch chambers, choked cylinder/improved cylinder with ejectors. The receiver, side plates, trigger guard, break lever and forearm hardware are decorated with floral scroll engraving. The underside of the receiver is marked "ROYAL/EJECTOR/PATENT/No 20979", each side plate is marked "HOLLAND & HOLLAND", the break lever is marked "PATENT/EJECTOR" under a gold inlaid "1" and the serial number is marked on the lower tang. The barrel flats are marked with British proofs, "NITRO PROOF" and "1 1/8".The bottom of each barrel is marked with the matching serial number. The water table is marked with the serial number on each side and has two "crown/V" proofmarks. Double triggers, tang mounted automatic safety, gold inlaid cocking indicators, blue barrels, break lever and trigger guard, casehardened remaining parts and mounted with replacement multi-point checkered walnut splinter forearm and straight grip stock with tear drop flats, a solid recoil pad and gold initial oval. Length of pull is 14 7/8 inches.

Very fine. Partially refinished, the blue components, with 98% plum blue finish remaining on the barrels. 98% blue finish on the break lever and 50% on the trigger guard with a smooth gray patina on the tang. The receiver, side plates and forearm hardware have a smooth gray patina. The recoiled wood is very fine with only light handling marks and crisp checkering. The markings and engraving are clear. Mechanically excellent.
