Engraved Gold Inlaid Weatherby Mark V Bolt Action Rifle with Carved Stock and Box

Manufactured in the U.S.A. The breech end half of the barrel, receiver and the rear of the bolt assembly are engraved with a board leaf scroll design. The trigger guard has a gold inlaid "W", and the floor plate has a gold inlaid elk in a mountain field scene, with a floral scroll design above and below the scene and a gold inlaid band border. The barrel was manufactured without sight provisions and is marked "USE ONLY/300 WBY MAG" on the left rear. The left side of the receiver is marked "MARK V", "Weatherby/ATASCADERO, CA" and "MADE IN U.S.A.". The top of the receiver is drilled and tapped for scope/rear sight mounting, jeweled bolt and follower, and mounted with a nicely figured deluxe high gloss walnut stock with relief carved floral carving on the wrist and forearm with a stippled background. The forend and grip cap have contrasting wood and there is a triangle in an oval featuring four contrasting wood shades on each side at the receiver and a larger one on the right side of the buttstock. Cheekpiece, high comb, decelerator recoil pad and sling swivel studs. Comes with the original box numbered to the gun.

Very fine as custom embellished. The rifle retains virtually all of the blue finish showing only the slightest handling/storage marks. The engraving remains sharp and all of the gold inlay remains. The stock is excellent with some crazing beginning to develop immediately ahead of the bolt handle, otherwise only light handling/storage marks and sharp carving. The markings are crisp and clear. The action is fine. The box is excellent.
