Wartime production artisan engraved Walther Model PP pistol with gold inlay, carved ivory grips and presentation National Socialist Flying Corps (NSFK) dagger with engraved scabbard. The .22 caliber Mod. PP pistol has a 60-degree safety lever and magazine release on the frame. The pistol is engraved with oak leaves and acorns on a punch-dot background. The engraving covers the entire pistol. The exposed portion of the barrel is blued and decorated with engraved cross-hatching. The right side of the slide has a gold relief Iron Cross with a swastika in the center surrounded by a wreath of engraved oak leaves. The two-piece grips are ivory. The right grip is relief carved with a stylized diving eagle. The left side of the slide has the Walther Banner, the two-line legend and "Mod. PP" on relief panels surrounded by oak leaves and punch-dots. Wartime "Eagle/N" proofmarks are stamped on the right side of the barrel chamber and muzzle. The serial number, "248318" is located on a vertical oval panel on the right side of the frame. The magazine is unmarked and has a phosphate finish. The NSFK Dagger has a silver plated pommel and hilt with black enamel swastikas between the wing shaped counter guards and ivory grip. The 6 3/4 inch spear-point blade is etched with the oval "E&A HELBIG/STEINBACK" proofmark on the reverse. The sheath has a blued steel body with silver plated throat. The obverse of the throat is engraved "Gunther/Bahr/1939". The reverse side of the scabbard throat is engraved "A-gruppe/II/Zeostorer" in three lines. The pistol and dagger are complete with a copy of a Capture Certificate dated Nov., 2, 1945. The certificate states that T/S J.E. Ford was authorized to retain "Walther pistol #248318 engraved" and "German dagger".

Condition: Very fine. The pistol retains 90% of the period blued finish and shows minimal wear. The engraving is deep and sharp. The gold inlaid Iron Cross is in perfect condition. The grips are excellent, have not yellowed and the edges of the relief-carved eagle are sharp. The dagger is in fine condition. Wear is limited to some shallow and very minor dents on the pommel, some tarnish on the wing shaped cross guards and some scabbard scuff marks on the blade. The ivory grip has one tiny hair line crack near the pommel. The scabbard body retains 75% of the period blue finish. The silver plated throat has some minor handling and storage marks but is in excellent condition with sharp engraving. This is an uniquely engraved Model PP pistol with gold inlay and relief carved ivory grip and presentation NSFK dagger with ivory grip.
