Bead blade front sight and folding notch rear sight on the matte barrel rib, with zigzag and dot engraving around the breech, claw bases on the rib, Nitro proofs on the sides and assorted proofs on the underside. Floral and punch-dot engraved frame, with scenes of a red stag on the left and a roe buck on the right, horn trigger guard, adjustable front trigger, indicator pins and a tang mounted selector. Checkered pistol grip stock, with sling swivels and a cartridge compartment. With photocopies of a signed statement from Joseph E. Foley III, who attributes this arm to his father, Lt. Colonel Joseph E. Foley Junior, who reportedly seized the arm from a wealthy landowner in the Berchtesgaden region while commanding the 48th Engineer Combat Battalion in support of the 101st Airborne. Also included is a copy of Col. Foley's service record and Service Certificate. LOP 14".

Condition: Very good as professionally refinished, with the barrels retaining 97% of the current blue with some light pin prick pitting and limited surface rust. There is a minor dent on the left side of the shotgun barrel and some unknown residue on the undersides. A mixed brown and gray patina is present on the rest of the metal. Trigger guard is cracked. Stock is very good with some minor scratches, dings and dents. There are some minor to moderate handing marks in the very good checkering. Mechanically very good.
