The barrel flat and water table are marked "SAINT/ MF./ ETIENNE" and the underside of each barrel is marked "INTERIEROR POLI EN LONG - CROUPEMENT GARANTI". The bottom of the box lock action is marked "No 5/320" and "IDEAL" and the lower breech end of the barrels are marked "FUSIL IDEAL BREVETE DANSTOUS LES PAYS". There is a single brass bead sight on the recessed matte rib, with dolls head extension, 2 3/4 inch chambers, choked extra full/extra full with extractor. The barrels are blue with casehardened remaining parts. The action is nicely floral scroll engraved and the fences have a relief leaf design. Unique barrel break system with a lever mounted in the rear of the trigger guard, which slides upward, sliding safety mounted to the left of the double triggers and mounted with a nicely figured skip line checkered English walnut splinter forearm, with ebony forend insert and 1 1/2 inch ebony insert running diagonally on the toe of the straight grip stock with a vented Pachmayr recoil pad. Length of pull is 13 7/8 inches.

Condition: Very good as partially refinished. The barrels retain 60% original thinning blue finish with some thinning to plum. The inside of the trigger guard and protected areas around it show traces of original bright case colors with a smooth silver gray patina on the balance. The wood is recheckered, revarnished with a custom installed recoil pad. With the excellent with only a few very minor dings and handling marks, with very crisp checkering. The engraving and markings are clear. Mechanically excellent.
