Engraved European Flintlock Carbine with Attractive Maple Stock
Produced without sights, with a pair of decorative ribs in the center of the barrel and a small crowned monogram proof on the top flat. A dogs head is engraved on the side of the hammer, with the lock showing a scroll accented scene of a crane snatching a snake out of a tree and feathered designs on the frizzen and frizzen spring. The stock is made from very fancy maple wood, equipped with a brass tipped ramrod, floral engraved ramrod pipe, scrollwork and a grotesque face on the trigger guard, raised and pierced-through scroll reverse plate with a devil head design, raised carvings around the lock, tang and furniture, and an engraved brass buttplate. The layout of the grain shows an attractive tiger stripe pattern on the wrist and a cat's eye burl pattern on the butt.
