Engraved Colt Third Generation Sheriff's Model Dual Cylinder Single Action Revolver with Ivory Grips

Manufactured in 1980. The barrel has the two line Hartford address on top with the engraving surrounding "COLT SHERIFF'S MODEL" on the left and "COLT S.A.A. 44 CAL" on the right. The left side of the frame has the two line, three patent date marking with a circled Rampant Colt. The revolver comes with two cylinders with each having an alternating engraved pattern on the chambers and a different band of engraving at the rear. The chambers have a line and punch dot pattern and a scroll and punch dot pattern with the 44-40 cylinder zig zag line and arrow pattern band engraving and the 44 Special cylinder has a zig zag line and dot pattern band engraving. A scroll and punch dot engraving is featured on the sides of the barrel and frame with a shell pattern on the recoil shield and loading gate and a zig zag line and dot pattern on the top strap. The zig zag line and dot pattern extends to the trigger, butt and on the back strap surrounding the inscription. The inscription of the back strap reads, "Willie P. Dorman." A shell pattern is engraved on top of the back strap. The engraver's monogram (LB) is engraved on the trigger guard. Nickel plated with niter blue screw heads and cylinder pin and fitted with ivory grips. With the revolver is a Colt "wood grain" box.

Very fine as custom embellished. The revolver retains 98% of the nickel finish with an area of light blistering on the 44 Special cylinder and traces of a cylinder drag line. The grips are excellent with filler added to the tops to make for a tight fit. The box is poor with the short ends missing.
