Engraved Colt SAA revolver, 44-40 cal., etched barrel, 7-1/2”, nickel finish, wood grips, #115797. This gun is in overall very good condition showing approx. 30% period nickel finish with balance gone to a pleasing grey patina; majority of the etched panel is visible, crisp action, very good bore, three line patents on left side of frame, all matching visible serial numbers, very good wood grips with approx. 80% varnish finish remaining. An excellent engraved Colt Single Action revolver with a great appearance and the way collectors like to find them. Colt factory letter for SAA revolver #115797 confirms 44-40 cal., 7 ½” barrel, nickel finish, stocks “not listed”, factory engraved, shipped to E. C. Meacham Arms Co., St. Louis, Missouri on November 12, 1885, with 5 guns in shipment. Est.: $20,000-$40,000.
