Engraved Colt SAA black powder SAA, .45 cal., 7-1/2” barrel, nickel finish, checkered ivory grips, #73310. This gun is in overall excellent condition showing approx. 80% period nickel finish, and period New York style engraving, quite possibly by L.D. Nimschke himself; all matching visible serial numbers; excellent bore, crisp action, sharp markings including three line patent dates on left side of frame; grips are overall good with age cracking and several repairs to the right side grip with a small loss at the rear toe of the right side grip. Consignor tag indicates shipment as “soft” to Hartley in New York, 1881. A classic engraved early black powder Colt SAA. Est.: $17,500-$35,000.
