Manufactured in 1883 and subsequently modified. The barrel and cylinder have been replaced and the revolver features New York style floral scroll and punch dot engraving on the lower portion of the frame, with a star burst and zigzag line and dot designs on the frame ahead of the cylinder, the same design on the top and back straps, and a shell design on the recoil shield, loading gate and top of the back strap. The top of the barrel is marked with the one line block letter address, "41 COLT" on the left side and the left side of the frame is marked with the three line, three patent dates in an oval panel. The matching serial number is marked on the bottom of the frame, trigger guard and back strap. The "4" is overstamping a "2" on the frame and a "3" on the trigger guard and back strap. (the writer believes this to be a factory error). Standard blade front, frame notch rear sights, and fitted with checkered hard rubber grips with the Rampant Colt in an oval at the top. Complete with a matching leather tooled gun belt with 12 large caliber cartridge loops on the back and single loop holster. The belt measures 39 inches.

Stock:
Gauge: 41 Colt
Finish: blue/casehardend
Grips: hard rubber

Condition: Very good as period modified with traces of blue finish remaining on the replacement barrel, mainly in the protected areas. The remaining metal surfaces have a gray patina with some minor pitting on the cylinder. The grips are very good with a few minor dings and prominent checkering. The markings and engraving are clear. The action is fine. The holster is very good with some minor normal usage scuffs and age cracking on the back, and tight stitching. With the exception of the loop that secures the holster and belt loop being torn, the belt is good with normal flex cracking on the back and tight stitching.
