Engraved Berleur Marked Percussion Pistol
Marked "Berleur" on the lock and "Guilla??ne Berleur" on the top barrel flat. Fish head engraved hammer and scaled beast on the hammer side and light floral designs on the lock. The barrel is fitted with a dovetailed blade front sight and there is a three leaf rear sight on the barrel tang with a front and rear decorative engraved folding leaf. Engraved left stock flat plates, one of a boar's head and the other two lions. Trigger guard with finger spur and buck deer engraved on the bottom and decorative engraved finial of a man wearing a feathered hat. Full walnut stock with skip line studded checkered grip, decorative ramrod pipes with engraved leaf design extension and buttcap with leaf engraving. The number "2" is carved into the top of the grip area behind the barrel tang.

Condition: Very good. The barrel retains traces of the Damascus pattern with a smooth brown patina. The remaining parts have a smooth gray patina. The stock has been refinished with a coat of varnish and remains very good with the exception of a minor crack on the right side between the lock and trigger and a couple of small areas touched up on the right forearm. The markings are clear. The engraving remains crisp. The upper portion of the percussion nipple is broken. The action is excellent.
