Manufactured in 1890 and subsequently custom embellished in the 20th century. The revolver is completely finished in nickel. The sides of the barrel, frame and cylinder flats are engraved with floral scroll designs with a punch dot background. The one line address is marked on top of the barrel and "COLT FRONTIER SIX SHOOTER" on the left side in a banner. The ejector housing has a zigzag wavy line and dot design on the outer edge. The left side of the frame is marked with the three line, three patent dates followed by the circled Rampant Colt. The upper front sides of the frame have a geometric design. The front of the frame is signed "WEL" directly below the cylinder pin. The matching serial number is marked on the bottom of the frame, trigger guard and back strap with the assembly number "1926" on the loading gate. Fitted with a smooth one piece ivory grip with a silver inset five point star reading "Texas" and a relief eagle and shield.

Condition: Professionally embellished with 98% of the nickel finish remaining. Much of the finish has a "foggy" appearance and there is some flaking in the cylinder stops. The grip is very fine with a few hairline age cracks on the bottom, a mellow aged patina with an attractive grain. The markings and engraving remain crisp and clear. The action is fine.
