Engraved All Metal Maclauchlan Flintlock Pistol
Manufactured circa 1790 to 1820 in Edinburgh, Scotland. The pistol was made without sights and the muzzle end of the barrel is flared and engraved with a feather design. The breech end sides of the barrel are engraved with simple patterns and engraved "Edinburgh" on the top. The top of the barrel mid way down is engraved with a simple leaf design. The right side of the frame is engraved "Maclauchlan". The bottom of the frame is engraved with a patriotic flag motif and the sides of the grip and sides of the forearm have a simple scroll design. Round knob trigger, belt hook mounted on the left side of the frame. Metal ramrod with button head and ram's horn butt with center ball.

Condition: Fine. The pistol has a smooth silver gray patina with discoloration on the hammer and frizzen. The engraving is clear. The action is crisp and tight. This is a classic example of a completely original Scottish ram's horn, all metal flintlock pistol.
