There is band of floral engraving around the barrel where the octagon portion begins, floral designs on the top and upper flats, and three gold filled recessed proofs on the top flat and one on each upper flat. Writer is unable to identify the markings, possibly early Spanish. The lock is marked "CASTANO". The iron mountings are engraved with floral patterns and there is a 7 1/4 inch belt hook mounted on the left side plate. The walnut half stock is secured by a decorative silver barrel band and features relief floral carving behind the band and forward left side of the comb, a silver banded forend and a fish motif silver inlay on the right forearm. Wooden ramrod secured by a single decorative silver pipe.
