English transition double-action revolver signed John Jones on right side of frame, marked “Coths Improved Revolver” on top flat of octagon barrel, approx. .38 caliber percussion. 6-shot, 6” octagon barrel, 12-3/4” overall, grey to brown patina finish, checkered wood grips, Birmingham proofs. The metal surfaces show an even grey to brown patina finish, some scattered light to moderate erosion and surface pitting. The grips show some wear at the top of the checkering and darkening, and are fair to good overall. The action is working, the barrel is slightly loose o the pin. Generally good overall. This style pistol spanned the gap between the pepperbox and cylinder revolver. Is this the gun asked for by the man with a lisp? He wanted a Colt and got a Coth. Est: $350 - $700
