English pepperbox pistol with removable spike bayonet and engraved alloy frame wood grips British proofed circa 1850’s to 60’s. The pepperbox measure 8 ¼” overall with 3” barrel cluster of approximately .38 caliber withsix (6) shots. The metal surfaces remain in good condition traces of original color some minor erosion and pin prick pitting. The frame is sharp and crisp, the grips are very good plus with minor imperfections. Theaction works well, the bayonet is genuine to the period and measures 4 1/16”. Refer “Blades & Barrels by Gordon Frost” pages 26 & 27. Est.; $800-$1,600
