English military issue flintlock pistol from the early 19th century showing G.R. and crown on lock with makers signature and on the rear of lock H. Nock. The pistol measures 16” overall with 9” barrel of approximately .69 caliber smoothbore. The metal surfaces show light to heavy scattered pitting and erosion. The lock is in its original flintlock configuration with correct hammer, small parts and frizzen. The stock is good to very good with one crack beneath the hammer and a light coating of varnish with slight restoration. The left side of the stock behind the side plate shows original inspections and storekeepers marks. The front of the fore stock above the trigger guard shows a large C 13 carved in wood which is a military type issue number. There is some small losses of wood around pins and edges. A brass tipped ramrod of correct type is included. H. Nock made volley guns, high-grade commercial arms, and this is one of the only three military contract arms we have seen by him in 40 plus years as he was commercially successful in the retail trade. Estimate $1,750-$3,500.
